What is LOTRICOLORE ?

LOTRICOLORE is a lottery benefiting the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation. Tickets will be on sale at the Bell Centre and through www.fondation.canadiens.com from Saturday, January 14, 2012 until Wednesday, June 13, 2012. Each ticket costs $20.

What are the prizes to be won?

FIRST PRIZE

A pair of Montreal Canadiens red tickets to all preseason and regular season games next season! (Value of $9270)

CASH PRIZES

  • 1 prize of $5000 (2nd prize)
  • 1 prize of $3000 (3rd prize)
  • 3 prizes of $1000 (4th, 5th and 6th prize)

INSTANT PRIZES

  • 10 jerseys signed by Guy Lafleur (Value of $500 each)

How much does a ticket cost?

Each ticket costs $20.

How many tickets are up for sale?

20,000 tickets, numbered from 00 001 to 20 000 will be up for sale.

How will the proceeds from LOTRICOLORE be used?

The profits raised through his lottery will be used to provide a healthier and brighter future to children in need by encouraging children to embrace a healthier lifestyle through physical activity and better eating habits.

What are my chances of winning?

The probability of winning can be calculated by dividing the number of prizes to be won by the number of tickets sold. In this case, the chances of winning an Instant Prize are 310 in 20,000, which is one chance in approximately 65. The probability of winning the First Prize is 1 in 20,000. The probability of winning a Cash Prize is 5 in 20,000.

Will I get a tax receipt when I purchase a ticket?

No, no tax receipt can be issued for the purchase of lottery tickets.

When will the draw take place ?

The draw will take place on Wednesday, June 13 at 2 p.m. at the Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec.

How will the winners be notified?

Winners will be notified by telephone or registered mail. The First Prize winner will be notified within 48 hours of the date of the draw and the cash prize winners will be notified within seven (7) days following the draw. Should the draw organizers be unable to reach winning ticket holders, the latter will have until June 29, 2012 to claim their prize. Should the winners fail to meet this deadline, they will be deemed to have renounced their prize.

What are the eligibility requirements for LOTRICOLORE?

The lottery is open exclusively to residents, 18 years of age and older. Employees and members of the board of directors of the Montreal Canadiens Children's Foundation are not eligible to enter this lottery.

I have bought a ticket but have since changed my mind. Can I cancel my ticket and get a refund?

No, ticket sales are final and non refundable.

What is the deadline for buying a ticket?

Ticket sales will end on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bell Centre.

How will I know if I have won a prize?

Winners will be notified by telephone or registered mail. The First Prize winner will be notified within 48 hours of the date of the draw and the cash prize winners will be notified within seven (7) days following the draw. The winner must accept the prize as it is described in the contest rules. All winners will be announced on the www.fondation.canadiens.com website as of June 26, 2012 at 12:00 p.m.

If my ticket is an INSTANT PRIZE winner, how do I claim my prize?

To claim an Instant Prize, the winner must send the Instant Prize portion of their ticket to the Foundation before June 29, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. Winners must specify the name and postal address of the person who will receive the prize.

How long do I have to claim my prize?

Winners will have until June 29, 2012 to claim their prize. Should the winners fail to meet this deadline, they will be deemed to have renounced their prize. The First Prize winner will be notified within 48 hours of the date of the draw and the cash prize winners will be notified within seven (7) days following the draw.

I lost my ticket or never received it. Am I still eligible for the draw? Do I need my ticket to claim my prize?

Yes, you are still eligible for the draw. You do not need your ticket to claim your prize. Winners of prizes of $1,000 and above must sign and return a waiver form within 30 days following its receipt. In all instances where a prize is claimed, the Foundation will award the prize exclusively to the person whose name appears on the draw ticket or to a person designated by the latter, in writing.

I have moved since buying my ticket. Who should I notify?

All changes to the information on the ticket must be reported in writing, by email, fax or mail. The email address is fondation@canadiens.com and the fax number is 514 925-2144. The postal address is:

Are the cash prizes tax exempt?

LOTRICOLORE winnings are not taxable. This means that you do not have to pay federal or provincial income tax on the prizes won. However, earnings (interest and others) generated by your winnings are taxable.

Can I give all or a portion of my winnings to the Foundation?

A tax receipt will be issued to the generous donor for the entire amount of the donation.
