On March 11, the 7th edition of the Rio Tinto Alcan Benefit Event for the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation was held at The Citadelle, next to Rio Tinto Alcan’s World Headquarters. This year’s the much-awaited event featured a silent and live auction, a mystery puck and hat sale and a musical performance by Florence K to bring a little warmth to the guests. Montreal Canadiens’ family members on hand to enjoy the performance along with several members of the Montreal business community were Pierre Boivin, Michel Lacroix, Réjean Houle, Guy Lafleur, Sergio Momesso, Mathieu Darche, Brendan Gallagher, Carey Price, Peter Budaj, Jarred Tinordi and PK Subban.
This year, Rio Tinto Alcan’s initiative raised $200,000 bringing the company’s seven-year contribution to the Foundation to a total of $1.7 million. The Foundation wishes to thank Rio Tinto Alcan and its Chief executive, Mrs. Jacynthe Côté, for their determination and dedication to make this event a striking success and for their commitment towards children in need.
